Teens Convicted of Murder For Causing Fatal Asthma Attack
What began as a juvenile dare ended in a murder conviction for 2 Philadelphia teenagers and a manslaughter conviction for another late last week according to news reports.
The teens all skipped school in March 2008 and headed to a downtown mall according to Philadelphia prosecutors. While waiting on a subway platform, one of the group members put out a challenge to hit the next person they saw.
Sean Conroy, a 36 year-old coffee shop manager, was punched as he walked down the concourse and subsequently suffered from a fatal asthma attack.
The 3 teenagers face a mandatory minimum of 5 years in prison with possible sentences of 22-45 years.
