A patient's Mom in my office the other day was very concerned because this was the first Halloween that her child will be trick or treating with a group of friends in their neighborhood without Mom being right there. While this is always scary for parents of asthmatics, I reassured her that her child has been successfully managing her asthma without much parental intervention for a while and that chances are everything will be ok. I suggested, however, a medical alert bracelet so that she might be reassured in case her child did get into trouble because of something unexpected.

Do you or your child use a medical alert bracelet? How do you deal with asthma and Halloween? Leave a comment about medical alert bracelets or go to the forum and join the discussion about protecting your asthmatic at Halloween.
