I found this scary and new to me info about asthma . Not only does it make us feel bad, it may also increase your risk of lung cancer according to an article I found on AsthmaMom's site.

In this small study, lung cancer was significantly more common among asthmatics and the odds of developing lung cancer were 6 times greater in asthmatics. It is important to note that there were only 13 patients with asthma in this chart review. The authors speculate that it could be chronic episodes of inflammation associated with asthma exacerbations that might start carcinogenesis.

This can not be speculated from such a small group of individuals that it could be chronic episodes of asthma that might be the reason of carcinogenesis.
