What is well controlled asthma? This sometimes means different things to different people, but it ultimately means how well your asthma symptoms are under control.

When you are relatively symptom free, you have well controlled asthma. In addition to symptoms, asthma control can be gauged by how often you are waking up at nigh due to asthma, how often you need to use your rescue inhaler, or based on your peak flow.

One of the keys to your asthma treatment is to learn what triggers your asthma and how to avoid those triggers. Finally, improving communication with your doctor, may also help not only get more out of your next visit, but also achieve well controlled asthma.
