The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has released the most challenging places to live with asthma. While there is no place in the U.S. where your asthma will likely be perfect, some places are better than others. The survey considers a whole host of factors such as average pollen score, air quality, presence or a lack of public smoking bans, poverty and uninsured rates. According to the AAFA, the 5 worst places to live with asthma in 2011 are:
- Richmond, VA
- Knoxville, TN
- Memphis, TN
- Chattanooga, TN
- Tulsa, OK
