Question: Will Asthma Go Away in Time? Will My Child Outgrow Asthma?
Answer: Unfortunately, the answer is that asthma will probably not go away, although it's impossible to really predict. Children who have asthma do sometimes experience lessening symptoms over time, but this does not always hold true. More often, people with asthma continue to have asthma for the rest of their lives after being diagnosed. And sometimes it gets worse, rather than going away.

Asthma is what is known as a chronic disease, which simply means that it usually doesn't go away once you have it. But the good news is that you or your child can still live a full and active life with asthma, if you follow your asthma management plan to keep your asthma under control.
