Asthma has many symptoms. Some people experience a lot of them, while others experience only a few. What symptoms led to your asthma diagnosis? Share Your Symptoms
Allergies to pet dander & bronchitis
- As a child I was very allergic to cats but I always had them as pets. I beleive this led to my breathing issues. A simple cold would land me in the emergency room for bronchitis on 3 separate occasions. The last time I was admitted with an acute asthma attack for 5 days. Was it asthma all along? Hmmm. Steroids, albuteral inhalers worked great until recently albuteral was taken off the market & replaced with ProAir HFA that does not work, even with Singulair. I need to see my doctor again real soon because the Chicago weather change makes me feel like I'm dying.

Asthma Diagnosis
- When I was seven or eight I started to have a lot of trouble breathing. My mom took me to my doctor and he told me I had a nasal drip and put me on Nasonex or something. Until finally I went to a different doctor who put me on Singular when the first doctor overlooked that it may be asthma. Since then I have been taken off of Singular and put on Advair I am much better off now.

Asthma Diagnosis
- I had cough, cough, cough. I went to several doctors, but it was not till one night when I ended up in the ER that I got diagnosed. Never wheezed when I was in the doctors office. The ER doc just started treatment for asthma and I got better.
