There are a whole host of alternative treatments people take for asthma, and nearly 60% of patients report that they have used one to improve their condition. This number is significant given a lack of definitive evidence that alternative asthma treatments actually work. Nevertheless, they are out there, and the thought of a non-drug treatment does appeal to many. Share Your Thoughts

Alternative medicine

I tried many alternative medicine products - but the truth is - when my asthma wants to manifest itself, nothing stops it.

alternative asthma treatment

The medications worked somewhat but I didn't feel well due to the side effects.

Why I chose alternative treatments

I chose alternative treatments for asthma because I did not like the side effects that I experienced with some of the traditional widely used asthma medications prescribed by doctors. Although they were effective in treating the symptoms, the side effects created new problems such as weight gain, mood swings, lung infections, teeth deterioration, to name a few. i did not like my dependence on synthetic medications and preferred more natural ways of addressing my chronic illness.
