Readers Respond: How Do You Handle Asthma During Exercise?

Many of us experience asthma during exercise. While we know that exercise is essential to staying healthy and that we should not let asthma during exercise prevent us from staying active, this can be difficult.

Do you have tips on how you plan ahead? What do you do if symptoms develop -- besides take medicine? What sports have you found that are less likely to lead to asthma during exercise?

Exercise Breathing

In addition to using my rescue inhaler 30 minutes before a sports activity, I try to focus on my breathing. When I concentrate, I seem to not have as much worsening of asthma symptoms.
