It is important to always have a rescue inhaler close at hand, but sometimes it is difficult to remember. What strategies have you developed to make sure you or your child always have an inhaler close by?

What works for me:

1) Keep a spare in my backpack so even if I forget my inhaler, I have one with me. 2) Pack my pockets and go through a checklist of what I need to have with me before I leave the house

I Was Always Forgetting My Inhaler Wh...

I was always forgetting my inhaler. I do not need it often, but would forget at the most inopportune times. Finally, after having an asthma exacerbation on a job interview, I had to do something. For me, I ended up getting an inhaler for my purse, book bag, work, and car. While I may not remember, I am never far from an inhaler for the times when I need it.

Keep in your pocket

If you or someone you love has asthma, you need to remember when packing to go some where, you should make sure you have your rescue inhaler with you, call your doctor, if you need a back up inhaler. Put it some where where you know where it is.

I forget

I am bad about forgetting. I keep several inhalers all the time. One at work, home and in the gym bad and backpack. Luckily this has worked out for me, but I would love to hear from others how they remember. I do not have bad asthma, but occasionally certain things can suddenly trigger an attack and I have ended up in the ER when not having my inhaler.
