Rinse Your Mouth After Inhaler

A.D.A.M.
Once you have finished taking the number of puffs prescribed for your inhaler, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water. Sometimes -- even if you are careful to use the right technique -- some of the inhaled medicine may remain in your mouth, instead of being inhaled into your airways.

Rinsing your mouth after inhaling will get rid of any unwanted medicine that may remain there. That will help you avoid any unpleasant side effects, such as a bitter taste. It's also a good idea to brush your teeth afterward. Doing so will help prevent fungal growth that can cause a bad taste in the mouth. It will also lessen the chance of getting hoarse.
