Figure Out What "Zone" You Are in on Your Asthma Action Plan

Once you have your readings, compare them to your Asthma Action Plan to see which zone your highest score falls into. Then, follow the action steps your doctor gave you for that zone, as needed.

If your highest score falls in the red zone, be sure to take your quick-relief medication right away and call your doctor or go to the emergency room. Peak flow readings at that level show that your asthma is not under control and an asthma attack left untreated could result in serious harm or even death. So, take action without delay.
